There are days when our minds feel scattered, restless, and beyond our control. Perhaps things didn’t go as planned, or someone’s sharp words or actions hurt. In these moments, we question ourselves, “Why did this happen?” Our thoughts spiral into pain, frustration, irritation, and even anger. But what if there was a way to rise above this chaos and find clarity?
Understanding Through Acceptance
The key to inner peace lies in acceptance. Every person is unique, each with their perspective, personality, and way of responding to life. No two people are identical, not even twins. The moment I embrace this truth; I release my need for control.
When someone does not behave as I expect, rather than resisting or becoming frustrated, I remind myself: This person thinks differently to me, and that is okay. Their actions are not a reflection of me; they are simply expressing their acquired nature based on their experiences to date. In a way, they become a mirror—showing me what to let go of.
Someone who challenges me is revealing where I lack tolerance. Instead of reacting, I can take these moments as opportunities to strengthen my inner world. Acceptance is not about passively tolerating negativity it is about understanding what I can learn from each experience.
Accepting Myself First
True acceptance begins within. Often, we reject parts of ourselves—the emotions we do not like, the thoughts we wish we didn’t have. We push them aside, thinking that ignoring them will make them disappear. But real growth comes when I acknowledge and accept all parts of myself, both light and shadow.
Inside each of us, there is immense goodness: peace, kindness, love. But are we using it? Am I applying it in my daily life? When I recognise and nurture my inner virtues and power, it naturally expands. Unlike material wealth, which depletes when shared, goodness only multiplies. The more I give, the more I have available.
The Power of Good Wishes
My energy and thoughts shape the world around me. When I interact with others, I have the power to uplift or dishearten them.
Instead of dwelling on someone’s faults, I can create a tsunami of good wishes that washes away negativity:
- I clear my mind of any negative thoughts about this person.
- I till the land with good wishes, believing in the goodness of their soul.
- No matter how they behave, I hold a vision of their best self.
- I trust that, in time, they will respond positively.
When I communicate, I ensure I don’t take sides. I create an atmosphere where everyone feels equally supported. If I work on myself so sincerely, my presence becomes a source of strength for others.
The Role of Meditation
Meditation allows me to connect with my true self—the peaceful, powerful being beyond external influences. In silence, I reflect on the virtues already within me:
- I am peaceful, and I choose to share my peace with others.
- I am loving, and my love radiates without conditions.
- I am kind, and kindness flows effortlessly from me.
Even towards those I struggle with, I can send good vibrations—not waiting for them to change but simply being a source of light.
When I truly accept myself, I no longer seek validation from others. I do not hold onto resentment or past wounds. I free myself from burdens that were never mine to carry.
Letting Go and Moving Forward
When I cultivate acceptance, I create space for healing. Instead of holding on to negativity, I let it go. My mind, once fragile and restless, becomes steady and strong.
Acceptance is not about surrendering to circumstances; it is about mastering my response to them. Through meditation, I choose peace. I choose love. I choose to be free.
