“Hello.”
“Oh Hello, how are you?”
“Tired.”
“Me too. It was a long day.”
“Yeah. I’m beat!”

A snippet of a conversation, you might hear at home, work or even on the train. We all seem to be complaining about how tired we are.

And when we’re tired, most of us try to push through it. But that doesn’t mean we have a productive day. Tiredness just makes us cranky and sloppy. And what’s worse, the more we push, the more tired we become! It never ends. Often it just leads to fatigue and burnout.

Why are you so tired? Is it because you’re trying to cram too much into your day? Are you overdoing it? Are you stressed, tense? Examine your current lifestyle and find out exactly what the reason is. Catch the culprit!

If you’re constantly tired – let me tell you – it’s no way to live. Make easy changes to improve your energy levels.

Give yourself a boost:

  • Eat healthy. Cut down on the sugar. Eat smaller meals, frequently and you’ll avoid the sluggishness that comes with digesting large meals. But do not skip breakfast.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water. Water, yes? (I’m onto you, no sugary drinks!)
  • Get quality sleep. Make time to pack up all your thoughts from the day and then put your mind to rest. Unwind, relax and switch off – experiment to find a method that works best for you.

When you’re having a tired moment, you might want to:

  • Change the AC setting or open the window. Warm and stuffy environments create drowsiness.
  • Like a cat, stretch! Stretch your arms, neck and shoulders.
  • Step outdoors and grab some fresh air.

Here’s something else – often, it’s not just our lifestyle but our thoughts that make us tired. Negative thinking = low energy. Positive thinking = high energy. So, the next time you’re feeling tired, you might want to simply check and change the quality of your thoughts.

Tiredness also happens when we’re devoid of motivation. Work up your motivation and passion for life. It’ll give you vitality – the energy to get up, get set, and go!
