The art of heart is about changing the story inside.
Have you noticed how even when everything is great outside you may be feeling low or how despite how challenging the situations you can still feel great? The situations outside ourselves are ‘out there’, our feelings inside are quite separate and not down to ‘out there’ but down to me. I can take charge of how I want to feel.
– So if you are not feeling so good: look back and see at what point in time your feelings changed; understand what led you to feel this way, learn the lesson; take the goodness and then say goodbye to the negative and move on to new experiences. It is only by letting go of negative experiences that we make space for new ones. Clean out, move on and make your life as meaningful and beautiful as it is meant to be.
– Don’t take hurt: someone says something to us and we feel hurt and forget all the good times we shared with that person. okay they lashed out at me: now understand why that might be (more than likely they are having a tough time right now); remind yourself of the good times you have shared with that person; understand that are probably regretting lashing out too and choose to let it pass. Rather than holding onto the hurt and letting that shadow your life and other relationships, choose to begin afresh and allow in newness.
We need to write our own script and take responsibility for our own well-being: body and soul. Accept responsibility for your own inner state. Keep your feelings clean and healthy. Nourish your mind with the things your inner self needs. Doing so, we can bring our feelings to a state of such strength and power that we wont shake in the midst of turmoil and can be an anchor for others too.
All we have to do is start out on this journey:
Step 1: look inside and talk to you! Talk to your heart, feelings and conscience.
Step 2: go deep within and connect with the beauty within.
Step 3: clean out old feelings (learn and bring out the positive memories – memories and feelings are very connected).
When I am in touch with me I am at ease with me, comfortable with me and I know my own inner strength. I can then use this inner strength to move my life in the direction I want it to go. To have a life filled with happiness and love; relationships filled with respect, love and dignity; and for all that I do to be filled with meaning, love and compassion.
Dealing with more traumatic experiences
First, make yourself strong. Have the courage and determination to create the time and space you need in which to nurture yourself and discover your own inner power and inner resources. You can seek God’s help too, the Being of Light and the Source of goodness, love and compassion. Only when you feel strong enough within; you have access to your own inner power; are stable and no longer fear your response; can you go back and face that person/situation. You have become so strong that even if they react with anger towards you that is okay, you understand that they aren’t in control of their responses and so you can maintain pure regard and love for them. Then they will see that they can no longer oppress you. You are no longer the victim. You have found what you need within you. The inner being that you are has come alive. Now there is light in your eyes.
