Rethink Your Mindset

Our mindset determines how we see the world and how we respond to what we see. Generally, today our mindsets are ones of fear and mistrust- these emotions then become the basis of our reactions. These emotions also have an impact on our health and all our relationships. Locked into a mindset, fixed into a ‘set’ frame, we tend to live on auto pilot- just reacting to what we see.

Ask yourself:

  • Is this mindset that I have, one that I want to continue with for the next week, month, year?
  • What direction am I going in?
  • What is the state of my mindset? Is it negative or in a state of well-being?
  • Does my mindset need rethinking? Is there an adjustment I can make to it?

Rethink? To rethink is to reflect, to contemplate, to meditate, to give yourself an opportunity to glimpse the original state of the inner self. Rethink yourself back into a healthy mindset; back into one that will enrich your life. Give yourself time to rethink and then space to create a new mindset.

Rethink- and create thoughts that create a mindset in which you can see meaning in everything. When our mindset is unfocused, there is confusion. Get your own thoughts in order and you will come to understand your life and what is going on around you- you will find meaning.

Rethink your mindset into one that is positive, noble and elevated- it will carry you towards truth.

Rethink who you are and who you want to be. We can create a very different mindset – one based on peace, inner dignity and value for the self.

Rethink– Why am I allowing myself to experience inner pain? Physical pain is something different and we have medicines to help us deal with this. What about the pain inside? Consider what is its primary cause? Ego- in ego we do not know ourselves and are disconnected from the inner self. Come back into a state of inner well-being by rethinking… What is your destination? Happiness, truth, perfect love… These are in fact all original states of being; to come back to the self is my journey’s destination. Having lost contact with the inner being things have become ‘crazy’. Rethink and discover who you are and create a mindset that enables you to tap into your inner resources.

Rethink- No choice? Caught in the world we forget we have choices. No choices, we become victims. When we can begin to see our choices we are no longer victims and this means that things no longer have to continue as they have always been. In all situations there is that moment of choice- I can allow myself to be accepting or I can get angry or upset. Say, for example, you are involved in a minor accident. You can either get angry or you can say ‘okay, at least no-one was hurt and we are all safe.’

Rethink- Constantly we are being told be ‘this’ or how what we have is no longer good enough-the car, the iPod, the food we eat… It is very subtle; it says that we are no good unless we buy ‘this’ or that our life is no good unless we are ‘this.’ This creates a state of discontentment. We may buy ‘x’ or be ‘y’ and temporarily we may feel better, only it is  temporarily. Discontented, we are never going to be at peace with ourselves or with the world around us… Is it possible to rethink and create a new mindset? Maybe instead of looking outside look within? Discover your own innate value, feel the goodness within and unearth a treasure store of inner happiness. Everyone of us has within ourselves this state of truth- recreate this mindset, in which you recognise your own value, and re-discover contentment.

Content, this will spill out over into all aspects of our lives. What happens to relationships when we are discontent? We are needy and so are they. If we have rethought and re-created a mindset that has brought us back to inner contentment and joy this will change how we relate to others- no longer needy we are free to share happiness, be compassionate, be merciful and forgiving. At work too, content we are able to be more creative and productive.

Rethink- Maybe I am in a situation in which I feel that others are taking advantage of me? Rethink, ask yourself: What is this situation teaching me? Unaware- circumstances take hold of us. Aware and we can see what we are meant to learn from this situation, then things change- they are no longer the same as they were yesterday.

Rethink- What is the lesson of the financial crisis? Maybe to make our lives more simple? We have made ourselves dependent on (for our happiness, peace, etc.) so many external things. Rethink, ask, ‘What do I need?’ ‘What mindset do I need to fulfill all my needs from within?’ Such a mindset means that even when things go wrong I can maintain my stability and enables me to become a a pillar of support to others.

Give yourself the possibility of experiencing a mindset in which there is peace within the self and the world. Then share this with others and smile. Also, as we come back to our original state of being, of love, we can connect to the Source and draw on that peace and love and truth and then share this with the world.
