Patience

Patience = peace, lightness and easiness
Fast food, cars, computers etc… We don’t want to wait…. this takes away our peace.

Everything we do has to be done at a fast pace… We get stressed or bored… this takes away our peace.

Isolation… ironically in the age of telecommunication we are in fact more isolated (un-inclusive). More of us live on our own; are part of one parent families; find colleagues being replaced by machines… this takes away our peace.

Patience is
connected with love; having the time to; giving respect and regard and listening- it allows us to give our attention to someone and for true communication to happen.

Developing patience
:

1) Expect that things may take time. It’s okay.

2)
Allow and accept: when we want something to happen we sometimes try to force it. This can cause others to dig their heels in and say ‘no’. Instead let go – you will be amazed at how things then happen by themselves, such as, the right person just shows up out of the blue.

3)
Be light and easy with yourself, rather than critical and judging. Only when we can be so with ourselves will we truly be so with others.

4)
Have the goal that: just for today I will remain patient no matter what happens!

5)
Sometimes we become impatient because we are assessing today’s ‘situation’ through the tinted glasses of the past: we are reacting to what happened last time -we aren’t in the present- and our reaction re-creates the same result. Take a breath, step back, see today.

6)
Meditation
a) In the morning: set the tone of your day in advance; your whole attitude throughout the day will be influenced by this.

b) Get to know yourself better; what are your thoughts, qualities and dreams? Go deeper and deeper. Discovering our inner wealth we become less needy and more patient.

7)
Reflect at the day. What went right in the day? What can you appreciate about today? What didn’t work and what can you learn from that for next time?
If we stay patient and inclusive we have a good time.
When we lose patience with ourselves our self respect goes down.
