Get Off Your “But”

THE TRUTH:
* I create my own limitations by making the excuse of not having enough talents, or I have too high/low expectations of myself which generate fear of failing.

* I live within castle walls which I have created from others’ and my own perceptions about myself, which block the release of my potential. We develop our own weaknesses with our own thoughts, words and actions.
* I do have dreams and I have the potential to fulfil them, but I have to put it into practice. We are innately good, beautiful and perfect. This potential needs to be released. You need to clear the way to grow.
* My search outside of myself to fulfil my desires and expectations hasn’t worked because that which I seek lies within me and not outside of me. Happiness is an internal experience.
* I haven’t lost my inner powers, but I disempowered them by becoming dependent on the things outside of myself.
* I can’t give love when I have very little self-love.
* You can be anything you want to be, within reason.

TO LIVE THAT TRUTH:
I need to become self-motivated.

1. Key to self-change: Look at yourself from a different perspective, switch your awareness and don’t buy into negativity;
a. Be aware of yourself, your history and accept it..
To encourage and nurture yourself internally and release that vision inside, do some inner work. Track backwards through your life and see: “What it is that is actually driving me?” “Which virtues are behind my actions?”
b. Re-examine the ways that you have gone about attempting to fulfil your dreams. Maybe you had too high or low expectations of yourself. First I need to create what I am looking for within myself.
Start with short term and implemental goals, then there’s a return. You will find that help comes from around you and you will start to use it effectively in your life. When you realise that love is driving you, you will start to give love.
c. Don’t be afraid of silence. A lot of inspirations and answers come to us when we are in silence and in reflection. Silence is the basis of our creativity, powers and skills. Give yourself quality time and spend it getting to know yourself. Nobody can do this work of healing for you; it is something you have to choose to do for yourself.
d. Take the personal responsibility to change your life, for your vision to come alive.
e. Be very perceptive, focused and awake to your own consciousness.
f. Practice discriminating between that which is good and bad in your thinking and then you will be able to direct your thoughts accordingly. Think before you think.

2. We are currently like torches with discharged batteries. We can find the socket to plug into to recharge in meditation. Then we start to see that we are love, rather than that love is something that comes to us from outside. Then you can give because others are not draining you.

Meditation is just about awareness. I am working on understanding who I am and being who I am all the time. When I am shopping, cooking, etc. It is a practice, an ongoing process. It needs time and effort. It creates a sense of detachment from what I am doing. All my happiness comes from who I am and not from what I am doing. I don’t have any preferences or expectations. I don’t lose myself in relationships but enjoy them, because I haven’t lost the plot.

3. Give others love and respect even if they are wrong and remove your ego. You will feel a great release because you are touching base with reality.

Be strong with the heart so that when anyone comes in there’s an inner power to be given out, absolutely and unconditionally, which has been accumulated within the self.
