F = Focus: commit to peace; give attention to practicing staying peaceful at every opportunity. Make this the focus of your day.
I = Inner stability: move from what happens outside triggering what happens inside, to investigating inner peace until it becomes your constant companion. Now no matter what is happening outside, instead of reacting you can remain calm and so help to resolve the situation beneficially.
N = Necessary: we have to ‘do’ in the world; learn how to ‘do’ whilst remaining in a state of inner peace.
D = Desires: when we are chasing after things we are not peaceful. Look to making your peace independent of having; this doesn’t mean not having good things just that your peace is not dependant on having them.
99 coins: a very rich king saw everyone in his kingdom was a bit sad apart from one poor man. ‘Ah’, he said, ‘he hasn’t had the 99 test!’ So a bag of 99 coins was left outside his hut. The next day the man found the bag and having counted the coins he thought, ‘What’s happened to the 100th coin?’ Distraught and distressed at the missing coin he can think only of this missing coin. We all have got 99 coins, are you appreciating their abundance or looking for the 100th?
I = Inner stillness: sit still and let your mind become peaceful; take time out to be peaceful every day as whatever we feed grows. Explore peace and it will grow.
N = Natural: peace is within. It is natural to all of us. It is our essence; part of our DNA.
G = GP: be your own ‘inner’ doctor; move yourself back into a state of calm and peace.
I = Intellect: this is where our will power lies. Our intellect can direct our thoughts. Waste thoughts are very draining whereas peaceful ones energize.
N = Not fragile, unbreakable: Not meaning to become hard and uncaring, but not to be overly sensitive either, be in the middle. In the middle we are strong and supportive.
N = No more critical and judgmental thoughts: become the watcher of your thoughts. When we find something we perceive as wrong with us we feel disempowered. Do the opposite, create an ‘abundance diary’ and every day write in it 3-4 things that were beautiful about today.
E = External stillness: this allows us space for right thinking.
R = Reel of film: when we step back we get a different perspective on things; pretend you are actors in a big world drama. Nothing is right/wrong, you are just playing your part and I mine.
P = Power: to exercise your own will power; to decide how you will be and see the world.
E = Easiness: flexible. You have your thoughts and I have mine and it’s okay. Let go of the need to have the last word – internally or externally. We do this to validate ourselves; know your true value instead.
A = Alert: pay attention to your thoughts; we can choose to think in a more benevolent way.
C = Choice of thoughts: what can/can’t I change? Let me look at what I can change peacefully; and what I can’t change, let me let go of trying to change it.
E = Energy: thoughts are energy; whatever I think goes out into the world so let me send out peaceful and positive thoughts.
