Emotional Feng Shui

Feng shui is all about energy. It concerns maximising the positive energies whilst minimising the negative ones to be about balance and harmony. There are two aspects creating space (de-cluttering) and taking charge of our environment.

The emotional clutter is the things of the past that I keep in my mind that are not helpful to me and any worries that I may have about the future. Are you aware of what you are thinking about at all times of the day?

The emotional environment is just that. Emotions are negative feeling in motion and out of control. Are you aware of what you are feeling and is it under your control? Sometimes we suppress or repress our emotions, leaving them unacknowledged. Suppression leads to resentment though and repression to depletion. When we suppress we are acting to attain or maintain approval from others, when we repression we think that we are not good enough and so repress our positive feelings to do something.

The biggest act of courage we can make right now is to go inside and recognise and acknowledge our thoughts and feeling and have a clear-out. To do this though I need to know who I am, what my true nature is and how to use my mind

Who am I?
I am pure energy, soul, life-force or conscience. I am eternal as energy can never be created or destroyed. The energy that I am can be either positive or negative. This is determined by my very own thoughts… and each of us has the freedom to choose our own thoughts.

What is my true nature?
My true nature is of peace, love, happiness, purity, wisdom and inner power. Each thought I create is a seed… and will lead me to that experience. If I think peaceful and loving thoughts then my energy will so. Similarly if I create angry thoughts so is my energy. I become distressed and experience internal conflict due to being at odds with my true nature. When I veer from thoughts based on these qualities the energy I create is always negative. Am I being influenced by my own intrinsic qualities but by things outside of me?

How does my mind work?
Our minds work to prove to us that we are right. If for example, I think that I don’t have the ability to do something… I will create thoughts that I can’t and this will lead to feelings of not being able to and so I dis-empower myself. I prove to myself that I can’t and stay within my comfort zone and stagnate. What we think comes back to us.

Emotional Feng Shui:
1. Be your own best friend… if I am not loving me I have negativity within me and this will be what I am giving out to others. How does your best friend speak and behave towards you and vice versa? Is this how you treat yourself? When you are happy you give out happiness.

2. Put on the cosmetic of beautiful thoughts because you are worth it. As long as I create good thoughts I am guaranteed a good future – it is the law of karma.

3. Create space in your mind… we feel that we have no time as we run around from this to that, but if we stop for a moment we actually experience that we have more not less time. We create more time and space for ourselves.

4. Become happy to be you… and so no longer looking for distractions to get away from me. When I am happy internally whatever I do benefits me. Whatever is happening is good in my life and everything is teaching me something, maybe to be more forgiving, more understanding etc.

The tool: forgive you and spend time with you as you would your best friend. Use meditation to create good thoughts for yourself. In the morning in particular see yourself going peacefully and successfully through your day. At end of the day go over it, see what went wrong and learn from it and then move on to appreciating all the good things that happened today, particularly the small things like the daffodils in bloom, a smile, a kind word, a warm cup of tea, a hearty lunch, a laugh etc.
