When we are living on track we feel motivated and enthusiastic about life. What does it mean, though, to be a being on track? How do we get on track and stay on track? The secret is… be your authentic self.

Identifying our Authentic Self – We can live life in one of 2 ways: outside-in or inside-out.

Outside-In
This is the way that predominates today. It is the more left-brained way. The left brain is the analytical and logical side of us, whereas, the right represents our intuitive and creative self. When the left side predominates we end up over-thinking and approaching everything as a problem to be solved.

Here, when we feel that something is ‘missing’ from our lives, for example, happiness, we think that it is missing because we don’t have something. So, we analyse what this must be and then we go out to get it. When we attain this we feel happy. After a while, though, our happiness that was flowing in my being begins to fade… Then once again…the story repeats.

We don’t even notice what we are doing. That we are going around in circles. Start observing yourself, are you doing this?

Inside-Out
Here, when we feel that something is ‘missing’ we turn inwards, we look at ourselves.

What is missing?

A good way to discover what is missing OR what it is that is within us and we are not expressing is:

1) Ask yourself: Who do I admire? Who are my heroes? – Write down the first people that come into your mind and not who you think you they should be.

2) Ask yourself: What do you admire in them? What quality are they expressing that you admire? – We resonate with that quality because it is a dormant quality within ourselves.

Start bringing that quality into your actions and interactions. As we start expressing our authentic selves we attain a natural and lasting happiness.
