Beauty And The Beast

This game of life– to reconcile the beauty and the beast within.
We are taught to suppress what we don’t like about ourselves, however, for real and transforming self-progress we need to accept both sides of ourselves. When we suppress we don’t feel good ourselves and negative responses overtake us. ‘I didn’t mean to say/do that’ we find ourselves saying. In reconciling we ‘unpack’ and free ourselves of all the ‘baggage’ of the past. When we do we enable ourselves to respond positively (using our good qualities) to situations and eventually find the words ‘I didn’t mean to say/do that’ never cross our lips again.

To reconcile the beauty and the beast:
1) Begin to get acquainted with the beauty within. Take time out to explore what is peace, love and happiness. What do they feel like?

We work very hard to match ourselves to ‘our’ external image. The first lesson on this spiritual path is: I am not this body. I am first the soul – a being of light- and my in-born qualities are peace, love, happiness, wisdom, and purity. Then coming into a body we take on many layers/persona(s) of who and what we think we are- forgetting who we are at our core.

2) Become really aware of what’s going on within you/that it’s about you/what it is you need to change to be at peace with yourself.

When we start to explore ‘who am I?’ we see two circles:
(i) the inner circle– what is going on inside me/the inner dimension/mind-memory-personality/the beauty and the beast.
(ii) the outer circle- everything happening around me/the physical dimension/it’s impact on me/my impact on it.
See the connection between what you are experiencing right now and your inner dimension; how I ‘create’ our inner dimension; how I choose to express my inner dimension outwardly?

3) To come out of the comfort zone of our current personality.
~Give yourself the support you need to learn and grow- of company, tools, books etc.
~Empower your good qualities by focusing on them and using them; see other’s good qualities; focus on the One who is eternally (never lessening) full of goodness and has all qualities. In doing this we empower these qualities in ourselves and lessen the grip of our negative traits.

We have got used to responding ‘negatively’ – defending, justifying, attacking, etc. However, once our aim becomes one ‘to express goodness through this physical body’ then the hero within -of true qualities- emerges.
