Our life, the author, as a creator.
In our life, in order to be able to create something one has to be free from the past and the negative perceptions and influences of others. You need to be ‘clear and clean’ to such an extent that there is room for something new to emerge in your mind. To become ‘clear and clean’ we need to let go of every scene when it is finished and so allow the space for something new and better.
95% of the time we are living in the past, this includes what happened ten minutes ago too! This means that the way we think and respond ‘now’ is being influenced by the past, whether appropriate or not, 95% of the time i.e we are missing the present.
If we are not present in the right way we are not able to create our future, rather it too is just being dictated by our pasts. To live a life that is genuine, creative and new, every moment needs to be a ‘clear and clean’ one.
Imagine that the mind is like a blackboard with many, many different things written on it. Can you read what was written on it first or what was just written clearly? So it is when we project one scene of our life on top of another. We create a big blur, confusion and fear. There is no clarity at all.
Say you bump into someone with whom you fell out with in the past. Do you react? Does your peace disappear? Do you find yourself feeling grumpy, negative or critical? If we react it means that we are being influenced by the past (we are recalling and reliving that experience again right now) and allowing it to dictate what we experience maybe a year, ten or twenty years later. What about today though? What present opportunity am I missing by just reacting?
To let go of past scenes:
– learn the lesson they are teaching you and move on. Note: to have a memory of an experience is different to living in the past, here you are no longer affected emotionally.
– keep asking yourself; What’s next? Now you are encouraging yourself to look forward to the next moment rather than mulling over what has just happened.
– we all make mistakes and would prefer them not to be remembered, so aim to do this for others. When we are disappointed or upset by someone we may feel like pushing them out of our life, instead be merciful and help them to forget their mistakes. See them with a new and fresh vision rather than with the vision of ‘what they did wrong.’ This empowers both yourself and them instantly.
Heard all these things before yet seem unable to put them into practice
The reason? We are lacking the inner power with which to do this. Where can we attain this inner power from? We can gain the inner power we need is by connecting with the Divine. If we focus on and draw on His strength then we are able to lead our minds in the direction that we know is right instead of it running around crazily all over the place. The first step? This is simply to decide that this is what you would like to achieve. If you want it, you can make it happen. Then? You will need information -a road map- about what’s going on in your brain, head, heart and mind. Listen and play around with these ideas and begin to see if and how they may work for you.
As we see how using spiritual teachings actually work in our lives we begin to see magic happening.
What is success for you?
“Success for me is to attain a lasting experience of peace, satisfaction and fulfilment within myself and so to be able to direct my life’s course. It is nothing to do position, wealth, the friends I have or the places I visit, when these come into play I am just running from one thing to the next and my peace has gone out of the window.”
