If you want to increase the value of your life just become a sunflower, then a lotus flower and then a rose flower. A sunflower will only ever face the sun; when you face the sun you receive light and all the ‘germs’ are destroyed. A lotus flower’s roots may be in murky water but it’s flower is above and unstained by the mud. A rose bush has thorns but the rose flower isn’t pricked by these neither does it prick anyone else. The flower stays beyond and doesn’t get caught up in the ‘rubbish’. A rose is loved by everyone but not attached to anything; it gives fragrance; it is medicinally good; and you can create a drink from it.
The more you experience God’s love the more you become detached; the more you become detached the more you experience God’s love. Sometimes people say ‘I don’t experience God’s love’, well how can you if you keep yourself caught up in everything? Make yourself clean i.e. make yourself true within. If first thing in the morning I make sure everything is ‘cleaned out’ then I can bring truth into my words, interactions and actions.
People ask me, ‘Have you got any more desires left in your heart?’ I don’t have any desires, my only feelings are that the desires God has for me and that I should fulfil those.
To have a merciful, true and big heart, i.e. a generous heart, means to not give hurt to others or to ‘take’ hurt from what comes to you.
The problem is that there is a very hot market for selling sorrow today. In markets sellers cry out: buy apples/potatoes/yoghurt etc. In the same way there are those who are calling out: take sorrow, and we do! If someone has the habit of giving sorrow they will find a reason to give sorrow and if someone has the habit of taking sorrow they will find a situation from which they can take sorrow. However, whatever the the cause may be why should I experience unhappiness or sorrow? My happiness and peace should be such that I don’t even feel that I am tolerating, I am able to remain in a state of peace, love and happiness no matter what
Remember:
– Those who give sorrow… well that’s their job.
– If I start thinking about something that gives me sorrow then…
– The Father is the One who removes sorrow. So who is more powerful, the One who removes sorrow or the one who is giving sorrow?
So:
– Have the aim to finish the business of giving and taking sorrow.
– Start the business of giving and taking blessings.
– Consider yourself a guest in the world (as you do when visiting relatives or friends).
– Live with purpose. Each day ask yourself: What is my purpose of living today?
