Thought Power

Thoughts are the one power that I have in my hands. Watch your thoughts because they become your actions, then your habits, personality and destiny.

1. Thoughts affect feelings and mood
My feelings and emotions are the resultant effect of my thoughts.Every positive thought adds to my energy and every negative thought drains my energy.

Stress is due to thinking too much, too fast, negatively or wastefully(e.g. thoughts relating to other people, the past or that start with WHY?)Feeling physically tired is generally down to feeling low; there are a lot of waste and negative thoughts about the self and the past going around!

2. Thoughts affect health
95% of diseases are psychosomatic and 80% of diseases are stress related. Certain types of personalities tend to have certain types of illnesses.

3. Thoughts impact on the actions we perform
80% of our communication is non-verbal. People will respond to you depending on how you are thinking about them.

Thinking negatively about someone or having low thoughts about the self is a form of violence towards others or myself.

If I have a problem with anyone, I first should start thinking positively about them. Don’t give or take sorrow, increase your self-respect. This is based on my actions and how I see myself.

It is possible to stay in that self- respect without being arrogant or ignoring my weaknesses by understanding certain spiritual principles.

PRINCIPLES THAT MAKE THE MIND POWERFUL

1. Where energy goes, it flows. Where energy flows, life grows.
Don’t indulge in negative feelings; they will stop when you don’t give them attention.

  • Start with having a positive attitude and kind thoughts for yourself. Leave the negative ones aside for a moment and give energy (thought) towards your qualities. This will give you the power to deal with your negative side later on.
  • Write down 10 qualities you have and 10 weaknesses on the other side.
  • Change a thought and repeat that new thought. As I practice this it becomes fun, like sports.
  • Repeat and acknowledge it. Go over it again and again. It will become easy and natural.
  • Do all this homework although it is challenging. Discipline and practice is very important

2. Slow down your thinking: it helps to create a clear and stable mind, then the less likely it becomes that I will make a wrong decision.
A positive attitude towards the self, for which I give myself time in the morning to build, will protect me from the negativity outside.

3. Don’t live in the past, but learn for it and move on. Put a full stop with determination.

4. Don’t think about others; you can’t change them, you can only influence them.

5. Be involved in life in a detached way; don’t get entangled in it emotionally.

6. Check the way you are perceiving life: do you have a victim consciousness or one of a learner?

When we have clarity of mind:

  • we can empower ourselves
  • make our minds powerful
  • learn the art of seeing falsehood, illusion and deception
  • know how to survive on this rough sea.
