The Art of Thinking

Pause…. Ask yourself, ‘What sorts of thoughts am I having?’ ‘What are my thoughts like?’

A) See the contrast: negative-positive thoughts and how do I feel?
Negative thoughts are like poison. Imagine taking a drop of poison! What would happen to your body? So also with the mind; poisons can be seen as jealousy, anger and ego (just to name a few). In contrast, pure and positive thoughts are nectar for the mind.

Negativity is the fire that burns and positivity is the water that cools. With negativity there is falsehood, violence, confusion and regret. With positivity there is truth, non-violence, understanding and success. With the power of truth we are able to transform all types of situations.

Pause… check the quality of your thoughts… change them if needed… make them pure and positive… See the contrast… feel good.

B) Wasteful thinking: time and energy lost!
There are many many many waste thoughts. At that time we think that they are right thoughts, only they just drain our energy, eat away our time and create doubt and anger.

Have a spring-clean, of ‘waste’ thoughts. Such as, ‘She should have done this! He shouldn’t have done that! Why did this happen? What are they doing? What do they think about me?’

C) Past is past: where did today go?
Don’t think!…Don’t think about the past. When we remember good things about the past ‘ego’ comes; when we remember what wasn’t so good hopelessness comes. The past is past.

D) Others: what is my role?
Don’t think! Don’t dwell on other’s mistakes; what they said; what they should have done; what is wrong with them; what they may be thinking about you… We can’t change others, instead see and encourage the best in them.

Pause… simply become aware of the essence of your being… and your original qualities…

Right thinking and our thoughts become elevated, we attain inner stability (power) and our actions and relationships become successful. There will still be obstacles and difficulties, however, the pure and positive energy that right thinking generates enables us to resolve whatever comes in front of us successfully.
