When wanting to experience silence in our lives, we are restricted by umpteen amounts of questions which we are daunted with. Four questions which seem to frequent in our minds and in conversations are:
- What has happened here?
- Why has it happened?
- What are we going to do now?
- Who is going to do it?
If there was a fire and the firemen stood there asking these questions what would happen? The fire would continue to burn and people would get hurt. No, firemen just go ahead and put the fire out, they do not question how, what, why etc.
So… let’s imagine someone became angry and the situation has gone off track. Are you going to add fuel to the fire? Why not add cooling water and put the blaze out? Stay cool, give benefit and help the situation.
Asking these questions has left our hearts in pieces and our world falling apart. Now bring the pieces together. Whatever has happened has happened. What do I need to do now?
With the power of silence I am able to leave these questions behind and focus on what is truly important to me.
Embedded deep within silence are pure intentions and the right kinds of feelings, the ones that allow us to have harmonious relationships with ourselves and with the rest of the world.
The Power of Silence allows:
– Clear communication. When we listen without judgement or saying anything it becomes possible to catch the meaning behind the words being said.
-Clarity and focus. When there is silence we are able to focus on the task at hand.
New inventions are brought about when we apply our intellect to a task with a lot of silence (focus). If the intellect is not still and stable then there is no balance and we are not able to perform the task accurately.
-Deep prayer. In deep prayer there are the powers of faith, courage and truth. These allow us to draw power directly from God.
God always hear His child’s deep prayer of wanting to do something good with their life.
-Deep meditation. In the silence of meditation we can come closer to the silent presence of God and the silence of time.
-True service. When we serve under the influence of silence we experience peace, love, happiness and power- this is true freedom.
What is Spirituality? To look at yourself and to understand yourself, and then to move along in that understanding. With silence, I am able to move along in life in comfort.
