Many thoughts go through our minds. It is our choice though which thoughts we take on. Who but I is responsible for my own mind?
In order to monitor and choose our thoughts we need a clear and discerning intellect; an awake intellect. When we are conscious of our own identity our intellect is naturally awake.
We are conscious energy that has the power to think, decide and act. When we forget this, our minds rule us and our emotions to take over our lives. Our mind then suppresses our intellect; our emotions our conscience (inner knowing)
All that is needed is to change one thought. To change from considering ourselves to be first and foremost the ‘human’ part of ‘human being,’ to being the ‘being’ part first and foremost. ‘I am a spiritual being, a soul, a being of light.’ When we do then automatically our intellect becomes alert and we are able to see and discern the thoughts in our minds.
When we go back to true self-awareness we are:
-able to exercise the power of our mind the way we want; we can channel the energy of our minds in the direction we want to go.
-able to hear our inner knowing (conscience) and its direction (wisdom).
-able to bring out the qualities that are hidden inside ourselves.
-able to benefit ourselves and others.
Meditation: the art of using the power of the mind in the right way. It works like a medicine to keep our minds relaxed and positive.
Think before you think: first be aware of who you are i.e. awaken your intellect and conscience. If you keep the intellect awake your thoughts will become ones of quality and then you will automatically have a quality life.
