It’s All About Energy

Energy: pure energy?
-Pure peace – with no mixture of anger in it.
-Pure love – with no mixture of hatred or dislike in it.

Love is energy, the energy that uplifts, sees the best and appreciates.

Changing circumstances
We look to the world around us and in relationships to bring us the experience of these energies. Only, anything material is temporary and relationships are constantly changing.

Everlasting?
We want to be happy and content, always. Can we be this even if our body is unwell, there is a financial crisis or our relationships break down?

A way?
The alternative is to tap into our own inner reservoir of peace and love. In doing so we are choosing to take responsibility for our own emotional well-being. Now our emotional well-being is dependent on what is happening around us. Someone says something, for example, and we get angry. We have the ability to re-write our ‘life’ in such a way that we can re-charge our energy from within.

Either we are creating (peace, calm) or destroying (by getting affected and becoming negative).

Energy restoratives and builders
-Learn about yourself. Do you know about your patience, mercy, integrity? Do you know your qualities? This builds self-respect. Self-respect allows us the tap into our inner resources and fulfil our own needs.
-Become aware of the thinking-energy link. Thoughts are energy. We are creators: so create the right thoughts (energy).
-Take time to appreciate the wonderful world we live in and see the best in others. Energy is built when we appreciate.

At the start of the day, as soon as you open your eyes position yourself in your original state, ‘I am a beautiful being.’ Set your mind with a good thought before the day begins.
Then ask yourself: What quality do I want to play with today? Courage, enthusiasm, calmness, determination, confidence…the list is endless.
End of the day, check and change. How was my day? Am I happy or upset? Where did my energy go today?
Then connect to your own source and calm the mind.

Energy blocks:
-Negative thoughts block our energy.
-If we are not happy with ourselves / circumstances

Energy drainers:
-Reactions. Reactions tend to be negative, instead we need to respond positively.
-Complaining. We just become upset and this drains our energy.
-Expecting others to behave in a way that fulfils our needs, forgetting that they like us have their own needs that they too are trying to fulfil. Instead, for example, we need to give ourselves regard.
-Being influenced by other people’s negativity.
-Tension. Trying to change that which can not be changed, for example.
-Seeing problems. Instead when something happens see it as a challenge to find the solution.

How do we lose our energy?
In reacting with fear-based emotions, versus responding with positive feelings of peace, love and joy.

Where do these fear-based emotions come from?
Why, for example, do we suddenly get angry? – Because at that moment we feel vulnerable.

Who feels vulnerable and in need of the protective guard of anger?
The ego- our false image of ourselves.

All negative emotions come from ego; when we react emotionally we can know that at that time ego is controlling our consciousness. Once we notice ego though and see what is going on- ego removes itself. When you realise the truth, the anger goes. We will know that we have found truth as when we do the mind relaxes and becomes peaceful.
