Why is it that our inner power sometimes goes?
When we ask questions start with ‘why’ and ‘what’ etc, they have the uncanny ability to drain our inner power aka our inner energy.
The questions which can be answered, see clarification and have them answered.
Those questions that cannot be answered, such as, ‘Why did that happen?’, connect with God and allow yourself to become quiet. Later, in a moment of calmness, clarity will come and you will understand why this happened.
How do we sustain spiritual power within the self?
We need to have an on-going connection with God and to keep our mind strong – to make sure we don’t expose ourselves to negative things that will impact our mind and weaken it.
A period of development is needed. The process is to have a relationship and connection with God. Make time every day for this, especially early in the morning. Then, to make the right choices concerning whose company you keep, keep supportive company.
When storms come it is not always possible to see the gift. How do we see the gift?
When we have that inner connection with God then the intellect can perceive things we don’t normally see; then we can see the benefit, take the gift of the situation and use it to move ahead- to cross a situation and go beyond it.
In the face of many difficult circumstances how can we maintain our stability?
Firstly, we need to develop a regular practice of meditation; this allows us to develop our inner capacity and our inner power.
Secondly, we need to be discerning about the ‘company’ we keep. We are all influenced by the company we keep. Good company strengthens us, negative company weakens us.
Thirdly, keep the relationship of the eternal self with the Eternal Being at all times – then power can come to us.
How do we respond effectively rather than reacting immediately?
To be able to respond to situations rather than just finding ourselves reacting, we need to develop the power of tolerance within the soul. Tolerance is a natural quality of the soul and when we go within we can emerge and grow tolerance. Then when situations happen our ability to tolerate allows us to keep our mind calm, to see what is needed and do what is needed. We are able to act in the right way at the right moment and not react.
In difficult situations the mind tends to race in many directions with lots of thoughts. How can we quieten the mind?
God is called the Bestower of Peace. When we direct our thoughts to the Bestower of Peace we can receive the power of peace. So in difficult times focus your thoughts on God, the Bestower of Peace. Experience the power of peace within yourself and then share it with others.
When difficulties arise we tend to get heavy, how can we stay light?
In meditation come back to the awareness of being the living soul. The soul is a being of light. Also, draw power from God. When the soul has power it becomes lighter and can stay light. The power of the soul gives it stability to carry it above and beyond all difficulties and circumstances.
