Your Mind’s Screensaver
Sitting comfortably, let your breathing flow naturally and easily. Now think of your mind as a computer desktop screen and watch what’s happening on the screen of your mind. You can minimise, save, close, or even delete all your thoughts. Now change the font for your thoughts to a really small size and change the colour to a really light shade, so during the meditation, if any thoughts appear, you won’t even notice them.
Imagine going through different images on the screen of your mind. Imagine a tranquil tropical island with turquoise water lapping at a white, sandy beach. Hold the image in your mind and relax. Next, you can imagine a lavender field. Imagine a grove of olive trees.
Now imagine water drops falling over the screen of your mind and feel a sense of calmness cascading over your mind, over you and through you, over your head and shoulders, chest and stomach, legs and feet, calming your body and mind.
Feeling refreshed, select one of the images or a different image altogether and save it as your screensaver. Switch off the screen of your mind and just sit and be in the present moment.
