Watching Hot Air Balloons
Imagine stepping out onto a field. Standing in the field, see an empty wicker basket on the grass and next to the basket there’s a balloon lying flat on the grass. Walking over to the basket, put all your stress, all your problems, one by one, into the basket. Clear out all the baggage, all the emotions, all the issues you’ve been hanging onto. As you let go, start to feel clearer and lighter.
Watch the balloon being filled with air. As the folds and creases smooth out, you can see the colour and the pattern more clearly. And as the balloon begins to move upright, see the hot air balloon, above the basket, shimmering in the sunlight. Now watch the balloon start to rise off the ground, lifting off into the air. Watch it take off higher and higher, taking away all your stuff, all your clutter. Taking it all away, far, far away, up into the sky.
Now watch dozens of brightly coloured hot air balloons slowly rise up and fill the sky. As the balloons float across the sky, drifting and floating, far, far away, let yourself drift into deep relaxation.
Now slowly step back into the room, slowly become readjusted to the room, aware of the floor under your feet, aware of the flow of your breath.
