Day 1: Meditation Challenge

Footprints In The Sand

Take a few moments to focus on your breathing. With each breath, relax all the muscles in your face, relax your neck and shoulders, and let relaxation flow down your back, through your legs, all the way to your toes. Imagine you’re standing on a beach, bare feet in the dry, soft sand. Feel the sand beneath your feet, between your toes. Notice the colour and the texture of the sand.

Imagine walking towards the water. Feel your feet sinking into the warm sand. And as you walk along, feel the sand becoming wet and firm, feel it take on the shape of your feet. As you get closer to the edge of the water, stop and look behind you to see your footprints in the sand.

Now watch the waves washing up onto the sand and as the waves roll back out, your footprints are washed away. Now imagine the waves rolling over your mind, washing away all the imprints of thoughts and emotions, soothing your mind and refreshing your mood.

Feeling calm and refreshed, slowly walk away from the waves, the sand, the beach, walking back into the room where you are. And give yourself time and space to simply be.

Day 1: Meditation Tip

Build A Routine.
Our suggestion is to meditate for 5-10 minutes at the start of the day and again at the end of the day. But you may find it easier to start small and gradually build it up. When and how long you meditate, doesn’t have to be the same every day. The key is to meditate every day, so, develop a routine that works for you.
