Melting Into Peace
Take a few moments to gather your wandering attention. Focus all your attention on your breathing. Breathe in through your nose and hold your breath for three counts, breathe out through your mouth for a count of five or eight. Now pause and repeat. Breathe. Now breathe naturally.
Move your attention away from your breath to your thoughts and feelings. Watch your thoughts. Observe how you are feeling in this moment. Focus on your anxieties, worries and problems, and imagine turning each of your anxieties, worries and problems into ice cubes.
As you focus on the ice cubes, imagine it’s a warm sunny day and watch each ice cube melt. Little by little, all your anxieties, worries, problems melt away. Like the melting ice cubes, allow the tension in your face to dissolve. Feel the tightness in your neck dissolve. Allow the tension in your shoulders and back to melt away. And feel the tension leave your legs, all the way down from your hips to your knees, and to your feet.
As all the ice cubes melt away, melting into water, melting into complete relaxation, melting into a feeling of peace.
