Release The Balloons
Uncross your legs or ankles and rest your feet flat on the floor. Let your hips sink into the chair, drop your shoulders and let your arms relax. Allow your hands to rest on your lap, or on the side, and loosen the space between your fingers.
Imagine holding dozens of coloured balloons. These balloons represent your stress, worries, and anxieties. Imagine tugging at the strings and then slowly letting the balloons go, one at a time. And as the balloons leave your hand, watch each balloon slowly rise higher and higher, slowly floating away, further and further away until they’re so small, you can no longer see them.
If there’s anything else lurking around in your mind, let go and release it all. Let it all go, let it all float away and watch it becoming smaller and smaller, becoming a dot in the distance. As you free your mind, your mind feels lighter and lighter.
Now slowly float into the present moment. Become aware of the sights and sounds around you. And sit quietly for a minute or so.
