Day 12: Meditation Challenge

Journey Into Stillness

Relax your posture. Take a deep breath in and out. Breathe away any tiredness, any restlessness, any tension. Focus your attention on your body, notice how your body feels. Take your attention to your toes, and feel relaxation flow from your toes into your feet, from your ankles through your legs to your knees, over your thighs and to your hips. Feel relaxation flow to your stomach and chest, and all the way around to your back, over your shoulders, into your arms, through your elbows, to your wrists and into your hands and fingers. Feel relaxation flow to your neck, through the back of your head and all the way to the top of your head.

As your body relaxes, your mind begins to relax and you feel your thoughts become lighter and lighter. Feeling light, let your attention glide up and out of the room, higher and higher, further and further into the vastness of the sky.

Go beyond the skies, beyond the earth’s atmosphere and out into space. Like a comet, racing past a thousand galaxies. Going beyond into a space of stillness, where there’s just uninterrupted silence, an all-encompassing quiet. Relax, settle into the silence and let the stillness envelop you. And be completely still and silent.

Now very slowly slide away from the silence and the stillness, and let your attention glide back through space, and back down towards the Earth, gliding through the clouds and back into the room.

Day 12: Meditation Challenge

Keep Checking The Time.
You can sit in meditation for as long as you like, but it’s a luxury we can’t always afford. So rather than keep checking the time, set a timer, so you know when to finish. Set an alarm on your phone, or use an app or music that matches the length of time you want to meditate.
