Do you feel like you never have quite ‘enough’? Enough time, money, opportunities, resources… If so, how can we go from ‘not enough’ to feeling like we have enough or more than enough? The secret is to change our mindset. When we are feeling ‘not enough’ we are focusing on ‘the lack,’ only seeing ‘what is missing.’ By doing this we are inadvertently watering the feeling of ‘not enough.’ To go to a feeling of enough or abundance we need to focus on what is there and water that instead.
Feeling of enough?
Feeling enough is feeling contentment (irrespective of how much we have), appreciation and joy for life. It is not about owning lots of things, rather it is about experiencing an overflowing fullness and generosity of spirit. It enables us to see new possibilities and opportunities that we may have missed before. It is to feel that there is more than enough for me and you.
How do we create an ‘enough’ mindset?
1) Realize that enough (abundance) isn’t out there. The feeling of enough is created when we experience and express our innate qualities and wealth of peace, love and happiness.
Try this: Stop for a moment and let go of the idea that enough is something you have to work for and just be still. Reconnect with your inner qualities and wealth. Take just one, such as peace, and dwell on it… Abundance is what you are. You could check this out… Peace of Mind Guided Meditation.
2) Utilise those inner qualities in your day to day interactions. It is by sharing our inner wealth that it grows. When the chance presents itself take it. Offer a helping hand, give a kind word, share your understanding, have a generous vision of others, stay cool when the temperature goes up.
3) Gratitude enables us to begin to see the abundance of life around us and this expands our heart and the feeling of enough. Find at least one thing an hour to appreciate, for example, something you ate, a helping gesture, a flower or a friend. Then make it two things an hour.
4) Let the past be the past. When we are caught in the past we miss many present opportunities to express our abundance and appreciate the abundance around us. Freeing ourselves from the past enables us to become abundant and experience the abundance of the present.
As with any habit we try to change, unless we remain alert it is easy to slip back into the old one. So, give yourself a helping hand. Put reminders for yourself around the house and on your desktop. Also, seek out the company of people who are also making a positive change, be it in person, in print or on-line.
always refreshing to come back to our innerspace and remember this alternative way of abundance.
thank you, it is easy to forget these thoughts and be carried away by the events around us.
thank you
