Energy Management

Our physical and spiritual energy can sometimes replenish and sometimes we may feel drained.

How do we replenish ‘spirituality’ energy?
The top tip for managing your energy in a time of spiritual energy crisis is, take the responsibility for your energy.

1st step: Monitor the energy that you use.
What are our inner resources? Thoughts, time and the knowledge that we have. If I am wasting them there is a cost to my soul. What drains us of our inner resources? This happens when our thinking speeds up, when our mind speeds up and gets stuck in perpetual thinking.

What changes do I have to make to protect my energy?
a. Start with stopping frequently and taking a step back from the frequent, crazy speed of life. Touch base with your inner core to remember who you really are.

b. Exercise the muscles of your intellect by studying spiritual knowledge early in the morning, your intellect starts to think about these good thoughts and these thoughts will then stay with you.
c. Do everything in balance. Nothing too extreme, then you feel that your life is flowing. Doing what I love along with giving equal time to myself, somehow more energy comes to me.

What do I need to do to bring my life back into balance?
Create an internal barometer to check what gives you/depletes your energy. Maybe gossiping, speaking unnecessarily and thinking about other people are depleting you.

My responsibility is to look after my own conscious and create a sacred space within. The more I respect my energy the more I respect others’ energy and the more energy I have to give because I have energised myself.

2nd step: Make small behavioural changes

3rd step: Do things consciously:
a. To maximize my energy I need a routine, a timetable. You also need flexibility within this timetable, opportunities to let go of the routine to let off steam. Have time to laugh and talk. While my head needs structure, my heart needs to be human.
b. Think thoughts that empower you consciously. Visualise yourself happy. Energise your mind whilst the body is recovering from tiredness. Even illness is time for myself, when I can use the mind to empower myself.

4th step: Make energy efficient changes:
a. Cook and eat in a positive state of mind as that energy impacts my mind.
b. Simplify your daily routine. To do this well I have to think simply.
When my mind takes me into past it drains my energy. The point of maximum energy is the present moment. We need to train ourselves to observe the mind, bring it into the now and then act. Make the conscious effort to practise this again and again.

5th step: Think before you ‘think’:
Is this thought needed? Is it beneficial to myself and the world? Thoughts send vibrations and leave an imprint on my subconscious. Am I recording the right thoughts? How can I have thoughts that will make me fly, remain beyond worry and feel free constantly? This is either a lifetime’s work or the choice of a second. I am responsible and I have a choice.

Tips on how to conserve the energy within:
– Recognise the things that will energise you automatically.
Even if I am rejected let me stay positive, as then I am choosing an energising feeling and nurturing myself. Respond with good feelings, keep the heart clean, otherwise my energy becomes stagnant and closed.

Freeing yourself from negativity and resentment and letting go is energising. Your heart and your ability to meditate grow deeply. I can observe the emotion, let go of it and save energy. My emotions are not in control, I the soul am in control.

Top tips to conserve the energy of the body and the soul:
1. Plenty of water.
Moments of silence throughout the day, the soul has a need for regular moments of silence.

2. Avoid big meals. Have regular small meals: that is, take in spiritual knowledge in small bites. You need to know what you need to know, read and focus on one thing.
3. Avoid stimulants, caffeine, chilli, etc. Cut out the things that stimulate you in the wrong way, anything that take you into a state of suppression. It is a point of denial; I don’t have any energy for life. I am containing myself. What is right for me? Spirituality is being natural. I can only be where I am. Being comfortable, realistic and progressive brings me happiness. Integrate some discipline. Stop suppressing.
4. Do some exercise. Take some action. Do something. If you want to feel energised, you need to use the energy that you have taken from meditation. Create that flow. If I give out I energise myself.
5. Feel grateful for where you are and what you are. Live with lightness and joy. I can only manage it well if I am light.
