The Art of Everything

What words are conjured up if you put the wordartbefore whatever it is you may be doing? Some examples that were given were: flow, care, joy, creativity, gratitude, energy and enthusiasm.

What words come to mind when you remove this word and are just doing? Some examples given were: resistance, laborious, routine, have to, compulsion, boring and haphazard (no aim).

So what is the difference between doing something as an ‘art’ as opposed to just doing? When we take something up as an ‘art‘ we actually bring ourselves into a relationship with it. We create a relationship with it of love, appreciation and gratitude. Doing becomes less and less of a ‘have to’, a compulsion and laborious and we move into living life more and more as it is meant to be lived. Consider: what is different between coming into relationship and/or acting on ones’ responsibilities with or without love?

My original capacity was to do everything with love. My original state of being was one of being full of love. I was so full of love that I brought it into everything that I did and everything I did was done as an art. Somehow we have lost ‘this’ as we have journeyed through life and today for most of us we find that we are no longer living life as an art. It is all fixable though. We have just lost sight of that wellspring, it has got covered in dust and leaves but it exists already. It is something we know and catch glimpses of at times. Also, if it was not just lost how could we even be imagining living life so? Would you crave chocolate if you had never tasted it? Would you long for a trip to the sea if you had never seen or knew it existed? Then too why is it that every now and then you attempt to break out of (reject) your routine/way of living and to get back to living life as an art?

To begin doing everything with love – as an art – is the most valuable thing we can do today for ourselves and our families, friends and the world. Recall and nurture those moments when you have felt that you were living your life as an art. Go within and re-discover that wellspring; open the trap door inside you to the love within. In meditation bring to your mind and nurture your true inner qualities of peace, love and happiness. Then nurture yourself with Godly spiritual love rather than just relying on external sources of love and so find yourself once again living life as an art
