What is in the way?
Name two things that you see as obstacles in your life.
Now looking beyond these obstacles…
What is the thing that is on the other side of these obstacles that you want?
Why do you want what is on the other side of these obstacles?
To overcome an obstacle and attain what you want
1. Identify the obstruction
2. See it as an instruction as to what you need to change to attain what you want
3. Construct a plan
4. Destruct that which needs to be lost.
For example: if the obstacle to attaining what you want is a person the way may be… to destroy your negative perception of them and/or stop blaming them and create a new relationship with them based on mutual respect. Tip: see them as your teacher, they are giving you the opportunity to learn something about yourself. Other people are symbolic in this sense… they show us what is going on in our heads. We see others in our own image… “perception is creation”.
Know that we are 100% responsible for how we feel
The challenge is do I really want to be free of my reaction(s)? Are you addicted to your buttons? This emotional addiction dis-empowers us more and more over time. Everything that happens happens for you not to you and everything happens for a reason
Instead of trying to get what I want from outside I can create it within me.
The first step though is to destroy my desire for what is on the ‘other’ side and know that what I want is within me.
Consider:
a) Are you addicted to your cravings/desires rather than to attaining them?
b) All desires are focused in the future. In the future I will have…
c) You can only ever be yourself, you can never have yourself.
d) Our thoughts can be obstacles. We lose ourselves in our thoughts… avoiding ourselves. The only way to really be with myself is to stop thinking. Drop all the thoughts, stop losing yourself in them, and instead be fully in the present.
e) When I make other people’s business my business I am not living my life.
f) The paradox of desires = that which I want I already have. Having… blocks me from getting. The ‘thought’ of my desire sits in front of my energy blocking it from getting out. My desire blocks my creativity. Our purpose here is creativity. However we need to create and then let go of what we have created.
