There comes a moment in every soul’s journey where the noise inside us becomes too loud to ignore, and what we have disregarded becomes too painful to avoid. We feel overwhelmed, confused, perhaps even lost. And yet, somewhere deep inside, a quiet voice asks: “What is really happening within me?”
In our fast-paced world, challenges come not in single moments but in waves. Emotions, thoughts, expectations, roles… We absorb them all, knowingly and unknowingly. And over time, this emotional accumulation can become so tangled that we forget who we are beneath it all. This is where the mirror within becomes essential.
1. Loving and Valuing Myself
The first step is simple but profound: to love and appreciate yourself. Not in a superficial, ego-based way, but in a deeply spiritual sense. To honour your journey, to see your own soul through the eyes of compassion.
If I truly value who I am, I can begin to see what is happening within me. But if I keep seeking validation outside, I remain in the fog of confusion. When I don’t feel loved, respected, or seen, I begin to wear masks. Over time, those masks become who I believe I am.
2. Soul Awareness vs. Over-analysis
Awareness of the soul is calm and clear. But over-analysis drains us. When our thoughts are created from pain or fear, they project more of the same. We become trapped in patterns that were never ours to begin with.
To break free, we must pause and reflect.
It helps to hold the intention of being brutally honest with ourselves. What am I really feeling? What story am I repeating? What am I absorbing from this situation that isn’t even mine?
We are influenced, always. But we can choose to respond consciously.
3. Ask the Divine to Show You
Inner work can feel impossible when done alone. That’s because we’re not meant to do it alone.
There is a connection to the Divine, to a higher soul, to God. Meditation allows us to ask, not for answers, but for vision. The clarity to see what we need to see.
It is like wiping a mirror smeared with mist. The heart holds our truth, but when the mind is closed, we cannot catch the reflection.
We disconnect from ourselves and then wonder why we feel such deep pain. But even a simple act of love, such as a hand on our shoulder or a kind question, can reconnect us to our humanity.
4. The Alarms of the Heart
The heart always speaks. Sometimes as discomfort. Sometimes as resistance. Sometimes fatigue, confusion, irritation, or sadness.
When I’m procrastinating, feeling irritable, or unable to make decisions, that is not failure; it’s a signal. A call to come home.
And when I’m isolating, withdrawing, or surviving each moment in numbness, that is not weakness, it is a whisper: “Be honest with yourself.”
We often think we are affected by many small things, but sometimes, it is one deep pain we have ignored. And it casts a shadow over everything else.
In “The Mirror Within – Part 2”, we get strategic on responding to the forms of suffering that play out through the mind, we will explore how to untangle it and transform it powerfully.
