Day 27: Meditation Challenge

Day27_Feather

Floating Feather

Sit comfortably and focus on your breath. As you breathe in, gather and collect all your stress and anxiety. And as you breathe out, breathe away all your stress and anxiety. Now as you breathe in, breathe relaxation and calm, and as you breathe out, feel relaxation and calm flow all the way into the muscles of your face, your eyes, your cheeks, and your jaw. Take a deep breath in and drop your shoulders, and relax your arms and hands. Take another deep breath in and relax your back, your legs, and your feet.

Breathe and relax. As your mind and body drifts into relaxation, begin to feel lighter and lighter. Almost weightless, becoming as light as a feather.

Let your attention drift upwards, like a feather, away from the room, the building, floating higher and higher, over the trees, into the sky. Like a feather, float freely in the air. Floating through the sky, drifting on the breeze.

Now slowly float down through the air, twirling slowly, slowly back down, back here to the room and feel the surface beneath you. Gently, open your eyes if they’re closed. Choose a point of focus, something in front of you and rest your gaze on it. If your attention wanders off, just bring it back to the point of focus. And just allow yourself to sit and be.

Day 27: Meditation Challenge

While You Wait.
When the computer is slow, when you’re waiting in a queue, waiting for a lift, waiting at the traffic lights, why not meditate? Observe your surroundings. Observe the people around you. Observe without criticising or commenting in your mind. Be an observer and you’ll enhance your peace of mind, as well as your ability to engage with the world around you.
