Day 23: Meditation Challenge

Day23_Lighthouse

Like The Lighthouse

Imagine you are walking along a path, on a clear warm evening, walking towards a lighthouse. Imagine entering the lighthouse, climbing circular stairs, making your way up to the top floor of the lighthouse.

At the top of the lighthouse, there’s a 360 view of the sea and the coast. There’s a comfortable chair, looking out onto the sea. Take a seat and as you sink into the chair, allow your body to relax. If any thoughts, any emotions, any distractions surface, let it gently soften and lose momentum, like the waves. Follow the ebb and flow of your breath, just like the waves. And simply sit, breathe and sink more and more into a deep sense of calm.

Let the feeling of calm flow across the waves, over the sea, in all directions. As you watch the sea gleaming in the sunlight, let your heart and mind be filled with light. Like the lighthouse, let your inner light radiate out into the world.

Now it’s time to leave the lighthouse. Walk away from the view, away from the lighthouse, and become more and more reoriented to where you are right now. And for the next few moments, there’s no need to do anything. Just sit quietly and let your mind be free.

Day 23: Meditation Challenge

Get More Out Of Sleep.
Meditate before bedtime to improve the quality of your sleep. Let go, unwind and clear the day. Restore your sense of tranquillity and create a restful mind. Here’s something else you can do in your meditations: Give a thought to the world. Create compassionate and powerful thoughts and send them into the world.
