Sitting Under A Tree
Shift your attention away from the world around you and imagine that you are in the woods, sitting under a tree. Rest your back against the tree and relax your hips. Rest your legs and feet on the grass and allow your entire body to settle comfortably.
Take a couple of long, deep breaths and let the tension escape. Feel every muscle unwind, relaxing your chest and stomach. Now feel relaxation fill your shoulders and let it spill over your shoulders, and down to your elbows, through your wrists, relaxing the palms of your hands, and your fingers. Allow relaxation to drift up the back of your neck and into your head, and feel relaxation spill over your face.
Everything around you is lush and green. Let the green refresh your energy. Now lean back against the tree and begin to tap into your stillness. Reconnect with your inner resources and inner strength. Like the tree, feel powerful and strong, tall and confident.
Renewed with courage, ready to go beyond fear and self-doubt, ready to face, whatever comes your way. Hold this confidence and courage and sit with it for a moment. And slowly shift your attention back to the world around you.
