We need power to protect our core qualities, to be a whole being with peace, love and happiness. No matter how bad I am feeling these qualities are there. We might not be experiencing them because we are busy outside. Meditation helps us to access them.
Ask yourself:
– How dependent am I on external things for my happiness, for love?
– How many expectations do I have? How much sorrow is there when those expectations aren’t met?
– What are my motives for doing things? Is it selfless or is there an agenda? Do I want something back? What do I feel if I don’t get it?
How do we unblock this charka?
Give without expectation… this is a freeing experience and keeps the heart clean and honest. Just smile at someone. Find ways to give.
I can’t open my heart unless I do it for someone else. Some qualities inside are dormant, still untapped because of fear or lack of confidence. Think of yourself as a unique being. This builds up your self esteem.
‘What can I contribute? What values are important to me?’ If I don’t know myself, my own role, my part, my strengths, and my weaknesses then someone else will give me one. If I am not clear of who I am, I will feel disconnected.
Am I connected with those values?
If I can remain free from negativity, it gives me a chance to explore myself. Otherwise it blocks my enthusiasm, my creativity.
It requires very simple aims:
‘My aim today is to stay happy whatever happens’. I focus on happiness in my meditation. As I think, experience, create and give this to others, my happiness begins to grow. I am doing the work of nourishing myself and giving.
Check every hour, ‘Am I taking or giving?’ and if taking, find ways to change this.
We become selfish because we want to protect ourselves. To open it up we need the aim to spend more time with ourselves and give. When we live our values, we open our heart. Happiness has nothing to do with what you have, but to do with if you are connected to your values.
When I have done everything else, I let go of the fruit. Go for the aim, fulfil your responsibility but then let go. You can start to trust people and life much more. Otherwise there is disappointment and sorrow. When you live within these spiritual laws, it gives you massive confidence to live. Just focus on looking after your own inner world.
What is the way to connect my values?
There are hints in your life. Look at your life. You will see a glimpse of it where you helped people. In silence, realise what is important to you. What excites you? Who is your hero/what poem most inspired you and why? What are the values in them? Start from somewhere then things start to happen. Take a step of courage. Other people can see me better than myself. Ask them. See if it surprises you. It is a search which begins with meditation. Constantly find new ways of seeing things.
